Nollywood actress and entrepreneur, Iyabo Ojo, has stirred social media with a cryptic message believed to be a response to the ongoing controversies rocking the Nigerian film industry.

On Friday, the screen diva shared an image on her Instagram page bearing the inscription, “Jealousy is the last class to attend before becoming a witch.”

She accompanied the post with a caption that appeared to dismiss her critics and emphasised personal focus, “Who made the rules? Nobody you gotta answer to. 2026 ain’t for talkers — it’s for doers. Do what works for YOU. Let others win their way. You win yours. Period.”

Though Ojo did not mention any names, her post came at a time when several Nollywood figures have openly clashed over creative direction, self-promotion, and the culture of social media engagement within the industry.

The actress, known for her outspoken nature and history of feuds with colleagues, appeared to signal her intent to stay focused on her craft rather than respond to detractors.

Her post followed a string of heated discussions among Nollywood personalities about the balance between artistry and online visibility.

Recently, filmmaker Kunle Afolayan drew criticism after lamenting the rising pressure on filmmakers to “dance, create skits, and maintain constant online presence” to promote their movies.

In a swift response, actress Funke Akindele urged her colleagues to focus on innovation rather than resentment, saying, “If you can’t beat them or join them, create your own path. No allow jealousy burn you. The sky is so big for everybody to fly.”

Similarly, veteran actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde weighed in, stating that while she sees no harm in dancing or playful promotion, it should never feel compulsory.

“I’m not against dancing for fun,” she said. “But I won’t do it if it feels forced or obligatory.”
