Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has approved land for the construction of the Diaspora Housing Project by the federal government.

The approval was given yesterday when the governor received the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) management on a courtesy call to the Government House in Yola, the state capital.

He said the diaspora city project would complement his administration’s efforts to provide decent and affordable housing for the state’s masses.

Fintiri noted that his administration has completed the 1000 units in Malkohi and has provided many interventions to cushion the effects of subsidy removal on the people.

He assured the delegation that all the necessary provisions, such as land, would be made available in the next seven days, saying the present administration is fully committed to the realisation of the project.

The managing director/CEO of FHA, Hon Oyetunde Ojo, said the project will enable Diaspora Nigerians to own quality houses in the country. This vision is aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Ojo reveals that the Diaspora Mass Housing units will have all the facilities, such as a police station, hospital, and supermarket, among others, adding that 60 percent of project contractors will come from the state.

He appreciated Fintiri’s warm reception of the delegation and commended him for providing roads, empowerment programmes, and healthcare and ensuring prompt salary and pension payment.
