Adamawa State government has received $1 million from the World Bank for improvement in the land administration system.
The commissioner for information and strategy, Mr James Iliya, disclosed this after the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting presided over by the deputy governor, Prof Kaletapwa Farauta, at the Government House in Yola on Thursday.
James stated that the award was based on improved efficiency on property registration and sustainability of the land-base investment-process value.
“The award is based on new land reforms introduced by the present administration,” he said.
Meanwhile, the SEC has approved the procurement of high earn scanners and digital achieving systems for the conversion of certificates of occupancy from January 2012 to December 31, 2024.
The approval under the Disbursement Linked Indicator (DLI) of the state action-business-enabling reform was contracted to Albashir Nigeria Limited with a three-month timeframe.
Also, the government engaged the services of a consultant, Marathon Capital Market Limited, to provide business advisory services on setting up Adamawa Mortgage Bank.
