Adamawa State Executive Council (SEC), has approved the sum of N55,256,595,280 as supplementary budget for the year 2024.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mrs Neido Kufalto, made the disclosure shortly after SEC meeting on Tuesday in Yola.

The meeting was presided over by the state’s Deputy, Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta.

Kufalto said the approval of the supplementary budget was part of government’s commitment to ensure no ongoing project in the state stops midway.

In her words ” We have a working governor who does not want to start work and stop halfway into the projects.

“That is the reason why SEC called for emergency meeting to approve the supplementary budget,” Kufalto said.

The Commissioner mentioned ministries of Education and Human Capital Development, Agriculture and Women Affairs as well as Housing and Urban Development and Commerce, Trade and Industry as beneficiaries of the approved supplementary budget.

Others are Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG’s) and Ministry of Works and Energy Development.

She added that the approval was to ensure that works in the above ministries and offices are continued without stoppage.

The state’s Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr Emmanuel Piridimso remarked that the approval was sequel to the receipt of another inflow of funds to the state.

Piridimso, equally corroborated that the approval was to ensure that works in the ministries listed are continued.

“The state had another inflow of funds, hence approval of the supplementary budget.
