Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri has approved last Saturday of every month as state sanitation day to keep the state clean.
The state’s Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Mrs Niedo Geoffrey Kofulto, made the decision known, shortly after the State Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.
Kofulto said Governor Fintiri has directed people of the state to strictly comply as taskforce team will be deployed to ensure implemention across all the 21 local government areas.
She also urged stakeholders in the health sector to sustain the successes recorded in curtailing the spread of measles which has been blamed for the death of over 40 people in Mubi-North and Gombi local areas of the state.
Kofulto, said the success story was made possible due to the pragmatic approach of the state government.
She further charged citizens to always make their children available for free vaccination at all times.
