Adamawa State Police Command said its personnel have gunned down two suspected kidnappers and recovered four Ak-47 rifles, chains and charms.

SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) made this known in a statement in Yola on Tuesday.

Nguroje said the slain kidnappers were members of a criminal syndicate operating in parts of Taraba, Adamawa, Gombe, Yobe states and Cameroon Republic.

According to him, the operation was carried out by the command’s operatives attached to Crack Squad in a joint operation with hunters.

“The outcome of these successes follow-up on collaborative strategies, designed by the command to checkmate cases bordering on kidnapping, armed robbery, cattle rustling, unlawful possession of firearms,” he said.

He said security commanders of sister agencies were involved in the newly designed security rings around some identified hideouts of the kidnappers.
