Adamawa State government is to introduce house-to-house inspection of the monthly sanitation exercise to ensure total compliance in the state.

Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr James Iliya made the disclosure at the end of inspection of the monthly sanitation in Yola at the weekend.

Iliya said the house-to-house monitoring became necessary to improve hygiene of residents of the state, saying that people would be more serious by the time their houses are inspected.

“Government is serious about promoting clean and healthy environment as well as reducing the risk of disease outbreaks,’ he emphasized.

The executive chairman, Adamawa State Board of Internal Revenue, Hamma Adama said 30 shops have been penciled down to be served demand notice to clean their vicinities.

Adama vowed that the notice would be issued immediately to the shop owners as well sanctions in case of violation.

He thanked Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for reintroducing the monthly sanitation, hitherto neglected by the former administrations.

Also, commissioner for Environment, Mohammed Sadiq hinted of adding more mobile courts to complement the existing ones in trying sanitation offenders.
