Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has brushed aside mounting reports of a summer departure from Sevilla, declaring himself content with life in Spain as the transfer rumour mill intensifies.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s friendly against Portugal in Leiria, the 26-year-old addressed claims in the Spanish press that he could be shown the exit door at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.

French side Marseille have emerged as the most keen suitors, with reports of an €18m bid in the works, though Sevilla are said to value the forward closer to €25m and are under no pressure to sell.

“I haven’t heard anything concrete. It’s the transfer window, so rumours are everywhere,” Adams told Footy-Africa.

“That’s not my focus right now. I have a contract with Sevilla, and we’ve just come through a difficult season. I’m happy here. Rumours are part of football, but I’m not thinking about that.”

Adams joined Sevilla from Montpellier last January and struggled initially, failing to score or assist in his first months.

The 2025/26 season, however, was a different story: he racked up 10 goals and three assists in 32 matches, playing a key role in the club’s La Liga survival and emerging as a rare consistent performer in a relegation-threatened side.

That turnaround has sparked interest from England, Saudi Arabia, and France. Marseille, aiming for a title push, see Adams as a priority signing, with his prior Ligue 1 experience at Montpellier considered a major plus.

La Liga’s strict financial rules could force Sevilla to sell before they can buy, potentially opening the door for a compromise if a suitable bid arrives.

For now, Adams remains focused on international duty — and Sevilla show no eagerness to let him go.
