Adeboye To Lead Dignitaries For Soun Of Ogbomoso Land Coronation

Fresh facts have emerged that the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye will lead other dignitaries to the official coronation of the 21st Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye.

The chairman of Central Planning Committee, Professor Adesola Adepoju, who announced this in Ogbomoso, said a weeklong event which will feature presentation of staff of office by the state Governor, Makinde will kick off with empowerment programme, on Thursday, December 14, at the Palace of Soun of Ogbomosoland.

Makinde had on September 2, 2023, approved the selection of Prince Olaoye of Olaoye Ruling House after duly selected by the kingmakers in Ogbomoso as the successor of the late Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III, while on September 8, the kingmakers led by Areago of Ogbomoso, High Chief Sobalaje Otolorin installed him as the new Soun of Ogbomosoland.

Adepoju said, “The empowerment programme is borne out of the desire of Oba Olaoye to eradicate poverty, and about N150 million has been set aside for this programme.

“This empowerment programme is for the less privileged, sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland. The governor will present the staff of office to Oba Olaoye on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Ogbomoso Township stadium.”

He stated that necessary security arrangements have been put in place to ensure a hitch free event.

“We are expecting dignitaries from all walks of life, lots of traditional rulers, representatives from the government at all levels, serving and former governors, captains of Industry and members of the diplomatic corps.

“We are already working with the different arms of security agencies to provide adequate security for lives and properties during the events as well as travel routes which will be issued later.”

The chairman added that, “Adeboye would lead other anointed men of God at the Interdenominational Coronation Church service at Beulah Centre on Sunday while Praise and Concert will be held on Monday at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology.”

He said the Jumat service and reception for the Golfers of Oba Ghandi would be held on Friday at the Palace and Recreation Club respectively.
