In a bid to guide against the incidence of fire outbreak in the state, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has charged residents to be cautious of the way they handle fire, especially now that dry season is at its peak.
The governor who spoke at the commissioning of two newly procured firefighting trucks in Osogbo, the Governor said that it is one of his aspirations to ensure the safety of residents of the state.
Governor Adeleke, after inspecting the guard of honour mounted by officers from the state’s fire service, enthused that he is also looking into other areas of needs of the agency crying for attention.
He urged the fire service to maximise the good gesture by maintaining the trucks so that it can last long.
Earlier, the commissioner for home affairs, Hon. Rasheed Aderibigbe, said the laudable initiative is attestation of the love which Governor Adeleke has for the security of lives and property of the citizens of the state.
Aderibigbe said the last time the agency was equipped with such facility was in 2008
