Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has inaugurated an ad-hoc committee on University of Ilesa, urging the committee to review the implementation guidelines proposed by the university within six weeks.

At the inauguration of the eleven-member committee headed by Prof. Ashaolu Taiwo of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in Osogbo Adeleke charged the committee to use their experience to bring their wealth of experience to bear on the discharge of the task.

The governor who expressed his worry over what he described as politicisation of the University of Ilesa project by the last administration noted that due diligence and comprehensive project report was avoided, adding that instead, it opted for political action on a subject that demands thorough planning.

“The ultimate goal is to ensure that the interest of Ijesaland is adequately protected and satisfied. My desire is to have in place a University of Ilesa that will be sustainable, a university that will be one of the best in the country”
