Adeleke, through his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, has directed a thorough investigation into the incident and beefed up security across all court premises in the state.

The incident which happened overnight led to the destruction of court-sensitive documents and exhibits, with the entire building burned to the ground.

In the statement, the governor said that the state fire service was mobilised to the scene, but the havoc was already over by their arrival. He added that reports indicated that files relating to sensitive court cases were destroyed.

Governor Adeleke, who urged support rather than attack on the judiciary, said the arm of government remains the stabiliser and critical arbiter of the democratic process.
