Adesanya Announces Return At UFC 305 Against Plessis

Israel Adesanya has confirmed his return at UFC 305 against Dricus du Plessis, while UFC president Dana White appears to have accidentally revealed a few more names in the card. In an unsurprisingly dramatic announcement, “The Last Stylebender” let everybody know that he is making his return to face his nemesis, Du Plessis at UFC 305. In a post on X, Adesanya wrote a compelling note to announce his UFC comeback.

“The sun of Africa is the same sun that lights up our planet. The sun will set and will rise again until you walk into it. The sun, enjoy while it shines. Darkness falls when it’s gone,” Adesanya wrote.  Prior to Izzy’s post, White had already accidentally confirmed Adesanya’s announcement while providing an update on UFC 303. Based on a screenshot from the original clip, a list of names from the UFC’s matchmaking board could be seen in White’s background.

In it, Adesanya appears to be the main event while Song Yadong is set for the co-main event bout. Other names on the list included Jack Della Maddalena, Steve Erceg and Drakkar Klose, among others. The matches are believed to be under the UFC 305 event which will take place in Perth, Australia on August 17 as Izzy declared on his post.
