The director general of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Mrs Funke Femi-Adepoju, has reaffirmed the training hub’s commitment to supporting the implementation of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP-25) and the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Federal Government.
The DG spoke on the sidelines of ASCON being honoured with the ‘Most Creative Trainer of the Year (Corporate Category) – Public Sector’ award by the National Institute of Training and Development (NITAD) at its 2025 Annual Trainers’ Week Programme.
She stated that the iconic training centre aims to expand into an innovative and digitally enabled learning platforms for public servants; strengthen leadership and management programmes for CEOs, directors and senior officials, Providing technical support to MDAs and state governments on reform design, delivery, and performance management; and Deepening strategic partnerships with national and international institutions to elevate standards in public service training.
‎She described the award as a decisive vote of confidence in the College’s ongoing transformation agenda, saying, “This award is not just for ASCON as an institution; it belongs to every public servant who has passed through our college, every partner who has believed in our vision, and every staff member who works tirelessly to keep ASCON at the heart of Nigeria’s public-sector capability building efforts. We see this recognition as a call to deepen our work as a national reform accelerator—linking capacity building directly to measurable governance outcomes.’’
‎The Most Creative Trainer of the Year further validates recent strides made by ASCON in digital transformation, infrastructure renewal, rebranding, and the introduction of reform-focused initiatives such as the Change Champions network and the Reform-Inspired Systems for Execution (R.I.S.E.) model.
‎ASCON expressed its appreciation to the National Institute of Training and Development (NITAD) for the recognition and dedicated the award to the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, and the management and staff of the College, whose unwavering support continues to strengthen ASCON’s mandate of developing competent and innovative public service leaders.
