AFCON 2023: Peter Onyekachi Urges Super Eagles To Win Trophy

Nigerian forward Peter Onyekachi has urged the Super Eagles To win the 2023 CAF African Cup of Nations.

The Super Eagles beat South Africa on penalties to reach Sunday’s (Today) final in Abidjan, where they will face tournament hosts Ivory Coast.

Onyekachi who currently plays for Israeli side, Hapoel Ironi Kiryat-Shmona in a chat with LEADERSHIP, insisted that the Super Eagles,can defeat Ivory Coast to win the tournament.

He said, “We defeated them in the group stage, and I believe we have the upper hand mentally and emotionally.

“We have all the talents,the Super Eagles have more talented players than Cote d’Ivoire, the team has displayed resilience and fighting spirit in all their matches; from the group stage of the tournament to the semi-final match against South Africa.”

“I pray that the Super Eagles will continue in this spirit and bring greater honour to the nation by winning the cup for the fourth time on Sunday.” Onyekachi said.

 

The most thrilling AFCON in recent memory concludes at the Ebimpe Olympic Stadium, Abidjan, with a heavyweight showdown between two West African footballing powerhouses.

 

Nigeria who won their third title in 2013,will be hoping to win their fourth title, and in doing so match the tally of old rivals Ghana.
