Afreximbank Unveils 2024 CANEX Deal Room For Creative Industries

African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has announced the 2024 CANEX Deal Room,a platform designed to connect creatives with financiers and investors.

This initiative aims to support the development and growth of the creative and cultural industries in Africa and the diaspora.

A statement issued by the bank said, the CANEX Deal Room,will provide entrepreneurs in the creative sector with the opportunity to present bankable projects and opportunities to financiers and investors.

“The bank and its sister financial institutions will consider debt and equity financing for transactions in segments such as film and television, music, franchising, fashion, and infrastructure for the creative industry.

“This announcement comes ahead of CANEX WKND 2024, Africa’s largest gathering of creative industry professionals, taking place from October 16-19, 2024, in Algiers, Algeria.

“The event will build on the success of previous editions, including CANEX at IATF2023 in Cairo, which brought together delegates from across the continent representing various creative sectors.

“CANEX WKND 2024 is hosted by Afreximbank, in partnership with the African Union Commission, the African Continental Free Trade Area Secretariat, and the Government of Algeria.

“The event will build on the success of previous editions, including CANEX at IATF2023 in Cairo, which brought together delegates from across the continent representing various creative sectors,” the statement read.
