The premier event, themed “Celebrating Africa and the Beauties of Nigeria,” will take place at the prestigious International Conference Centre in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

With preparations underway, MAFEST 2024 promises to be a dazzling convergence of Africa’s leading fashion designers, models, influencers, and industry professionals.

Organised by Mena Communications Limited in collaboration with Modela Couture, Lagos, MAFEST 2024,  aims to draw attention to the immense potential of Africa’s fashion and garment industry.

Recognising its role as the second-largest job creator and wealth generator after agriculture, the festival seeks to showcase Africa’s creative prowess while inspiring investment from governments and financial institutions across the continent.

“We are thrilled to launch MAFEST 2024 and shine a spotlight on Africa’s fashion and garment industry,” stated Director of Communications, Media, and Strategy for MAFEST, David Nwokorie.

He said “this event will not only provide a platform for established designers and models but also empower emerging talents to showcase their innovative creations and avant-garde designs.”

The three-day festival will encompass captivating fashion shows, exhibitions, awards, and business-to-government sessions aimed at formulating strategies to stimulate investment in the sector.

A highlight of the event will be the crowning of the prestigious titles of MAFEST Designer of the Year and MAFEST Model of the Year.

Furthermore, the decision to host MAFEST in Abuja is a strategic step toward establishing an industrial fashion hub that will contribute to the expansion of clothing production for both local consumption and international exports.

This ambitious endeavor is expected to create more than 400,000 jobs, offering a significant economic boost to women and youth.

MAFEST 2024 promises attendees the opportunity to connect with renowned fashion icons, emerging designers, beauty enthusiasts, and notable personalities.

From networking sessions to meet-and-greet moments, the festival will be teeming with surprises, including appearances by movie celebrities, beauty queens, and supermodels from across four continents.

As the world eagerly awaits MAFEST 2024, fashion enthusiasts and industry professionals can look forward to an event that not only celebrates Africa’s diverse fashion heritage but also aims to transform the continent’s fashion landscape.
