African Democratic Congress (ADC )in Imo State, has received members from other political parties, including Francis Igwejiuba, a Harvard-trained educationist into its fold.
The ceremony took place at the party’s State Secretariat in Owerri, the state capital.
Receiving the new entrants into the party, the ADC state chairman, Prof. James Okoroma, commended Igwejiuba’s contributions to philanthropy and human capital development in Owerri West.
He described his decision to join the party as timely and strategic.
He said, “We welcome you to the family with open arms. The ADC is the party to be in, ahead of the 2027 elections.
“I encourage you to continue working with your people and our leaders. Every polling unit in Owerri West must be fully constituted, supervised, and functioning optimally”.
The defection move was contained in a statement issued by the state publicity secretary, Chief Macdonald Amadi and made available to newsmen.
Igwejiuba, accompanied by a large crowd of supporters and party stakeholders from Owerri West council area, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and commended the party leadership for their unity and purposeful leadership.
“My coming into ADC is divine, and by God’s grace, we shall win. ADC is a brand Ndi Imo can trust. ADC is the light, and light will always overshadow darkness”.
The meeting was attended by prominent party members, including Hon. Damian Ezeagu, state deputy chairman; Chief Sir MacDonald Amadi, state publicity secretary; Nze Lawrence Nwadike, state organising secretary and others.
