With a blistering time of 1:37:02, Grace edged out Algeria’s home favorite Chemouni Saoussan, who finished four seconds behind at 1:37:06, in a thrilling finish that had spectators on the edge of their seats.
This victory adds to Nigeria’s growing medal haul and underscores the strength and determination of the nation’s young athletes competing on African soil.
As of Friday morning, Team Nigeria has secured a total of 11 medals, comprising three gold, four silver and four bronze medals.
