AfriGO, Nigeria’s national domestic card scheme, has partnered with PalmPay to expand access to card-based payment solutions and deepen participation in the country’s growing digital economy.

With the integration, AfriGO cards are now available directly on the PalmPay mobile application, enabling Nigerians to request the national domestic card seamlessly through the platform.

The move broadens AfriGO’s distribution by extending the card request process across digital and physical channels.

By leveraging PalmPay’s widely used platform for payments, transfers and other financial services, the collaboration is expected to bring more Nigerians into the formal payments ecosystem.

Speaking on the development, managing director of AfriGO, Ebehijie Momoh, said the integration aligns with the scheme’s broader ambition to build a payment system tailored to local realities.

“AfriGO represents our long-term vision for a payments ecosystem that is designed around Nigeria’s needs and realities.

By making AfriGO cards available on the PalmPay app, we are removing barriers to access and ensuring that more Nigerians can participate fully in the digital economy,” she said.

On his part, the managing director of PalmPay, Chika Nwosu, noted that the partnership would address lingering access gaps in reliable card services.

“Many Nigerians still face challenges accessing reliable card services. By enabling AfriGO card requests directly on the PalmPay app, we’re making banking smarter and more accessible, while giving users the confidence to pay seamlessly across Nigeria’s payment ecosystem,” Nwosu stated.

AfriGO cards are designed to function across Nigeria’s payments landscape, with acceptance at automated teller machines, point-of-sale terminals, and online platforms nationwide. PalmPay users can request the card by logging into the application, while those who prefer physical interaction can visit PalmPay customer experience centres or approach any of its over 500,000 agents across the country for guidance
