After 25 Days In Captivity, Kwara Monarch Regains Freedom

The Ojibara of Bayagan in Ifelodun local government area of Kwara State, Alhaji Kamilu Salami, who was abducted on 30th November, 2025, has regained his freedom.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the monarch was released by his abductors on Tuesday.

A palace source confirmed that the monarch had been released and has reunited with his family.
The kidnappers had demanded N150 million to free the traditional ruler who was abducted on his farm.

The palace source that confirmed the release of the monarch, however, denied comment on whether any ransom was paid to secure the release of Ojibara.

He said, “All I can tell you is that the Ojibara of Bayagan has regained his freedom. I can’t say anything about ransom payment. The monarch has been advised to stay away from public glare for now. Ojibara is fine, I can confirm that.”
