Katsina State governor, Dikko Umaru Radda will proceed on a three-week medical leave starting from Monday, August 18, 2025.
The medical leave followed a recent accident involving the Governor Radda from which he recently resumed official duties.
In a statement by the State Commissioner for Information, Bala Salisu Zango, the governor thanked the people of Katsina State for their prayers, support, and understanding during this period.
“Taking the necessary steps to prioritise my health is essential so I can continue to serve effectively and make the best decisions for our state. I look forward to returning to my duties as soon as I complete my medical check-up,” Radda said.
In order to ensure uninterrupted governance, the Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal has been designated as Acting Governor throughout the period the governor will be absent.
The governor expressed full confidence in Lawal’s ability to manage the affairs of the state with dedication and commitment in his absence.
Governor Radda assured the public that he will return with renewed energy to continue delivering on his promises to the people of Katsina State.
