Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Tuesday, assured Nigerians of improved security nationwide following his briefing with President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja.
Speaking with State House correspondents after the closed-door meeting, the Army Chief said his assessment of ongoing security operations, particularly after his recent visit to the North-East, showed encouraging progress.
When asked what Nigerians should expect in the coming weeks, he replied: “Improved security across the country.”
Lieutenant General Shaibu explained that his briefing to the President covered the outcome of his operational tour of the North-East theatre of operations as well as updates on the general security situation across the country.
“I came to brief him on the outcome of my visit to the Northeast region and then look at other security situations across the country, which was satisfactory within this period,” the Army Chief stated.
