Again, Bandits Abduct Woman, 3 Children In Kaduna

Two months after the abduction of two Kaduna-based journalists and their family members in Dan Honu II, New Millennium City of Chikun local government area of Kaduna, bandits on Wednesday night again stormed the community, kidnapping a housewife and her three sons.

It would be recalled that the two journalists were on July 6, 2024, kidnapped alongside some of their family members before they regained freedom after spending a week with their abductors.

In the latest invasion, the bandits stormed the house of one Mr Mutiu Adeleke and whisked away his wife and their three sons, leaving him behind.

Our correspondent gathered that the incident occurred around 10pm, as the gunmen stormed the community shooting sporadically unchallenged before making away with the victims.

It was also gathered that Mrs Adeleke who could not keep up with the pace of the bandits’ movement was abandoned in the bush and had since returned home, while her three sons remained in the custody of the bandits.

Our correspondent also gathered that, Mr Adeleke had after the kidnap of the two journalists who are his friends, resolved to move out of the community and had just secured an apartment in a safer place in the town two days before the unfortunate incident.

According to sources in the community, Mr Adeleke and his family had started moving their belongings gradually from Dan Honu II, with the intention of leaving finally by the weekend before the unfortunate situation befell his family.

No contact for ransom has been made yet as at the time of this report, while the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Munsir Hassan could not be reached for reaction.
