A boat mishap has claimed two lives in Katcha local government area of Niger State on Friday night.
It was gathered that the victims were children and that the incident occurred when the engine of the boat carrying about 145 passengers went up in flames due to a mechanical fault.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), Ibrahim Hussain, said the passengers were coming from neighbouring Danbo village in Kogi State when the accident happened.
