The members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) popularly called Shi’ites, yesterday converged on Minna Central Mosque to protest the ongoing United States attack on Iran.
LEADERSHIP reported that on Sunday, same group protested in Suleja from Dawaki roundabout to Morada area of Suleja, waving Iranian flag and chanting freedom songs with placards and they moved to Minna Central Mosque yesterday.
In the same manner, the protest in Minna was peacefully conducted from the Central Mosque through the major streets in Minna around the adjoining streets.
LEADERSHIP observed that the protesters wearing blacks returned to the mosque before dispersing some few minutes after 4 pm.
It was observed that the procession consisted of men, women and children carrying Iranian flags and placards with different inscriptions condemning the ongoing war in Iran.
They chanted slogans against the war, which they said is aggression against a sovereign nation.
The protesters also offered prayers for God to grant The Islamic Republic of Iran victory over the aggressors before they dispersed from the Central Mosque.
