The Yobe State Arabic and Islamic Education Board (AISEB) has once again embarked on a mass haircut exercise for Almajiri pupils as part of efforts to promote hygiene among the students.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Information Officer of the AISEB, Adamu Mohammed and made available to newsmen in Damaturu.
Speaking during the exercise, the team leader, Malam Adamu Bura, emphasized that the initiative was aimed at enhancing hygiene standards among Almajiris across the state.
He said a total of 100 Almajiri pupils from Nasarawa Ward in Damaturu benefited from the program.
The Executive Secretary of State Arabic and Islamic Education Board (AISEB), Malam Umar Abubakar, commended Governor Mai Mala Buni, for his continued support of Almajiri education as well as their welfare in the state.
Also speaking, one of the head teachers of the benefiting Almajiris, Goni Surajo of Nasarawa Ward expressed appreciation to the Yobe State Government and AISEB for organizing the initiative, describing it as an essential program for the well-being of the pupils.
