Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency (DSCTDA) has stepped up its environmental sanitation drive with decisive actions taken against street traders and the removal of illegal and makeshift structures obstructing walkways and road setbacks.

In a coordinated operation, the agency’s environment unit cleared blocked drainages on Ibusa Road, particularly the Magistrate Court axis, tackling long-standing environmental concerns and preventing potential flooding.

The director-general of the agency, Chief Patrick Ukah, who supervised the operation over the weekend, stressed that the push for a cleaner capital territory was non-negotiable, noting that sustained cleanliness was critical to public health, safety and the image of Asaba as a modern city.

He called on residents and traders to take responsibility and support government efforts to restore cleanliness and order across Asaba.

Residents are therefore urged to comply with environmental regulations and contribute actively to keeping the Capital Territory clean, as the Agency intensifies its drive to build a healthier and more organized Asaba.

Leading from the front, the Head of Environment, Isaac Nwosu, and his team were actively on ground throughout the exercise, demonstrating unwavering commitment and consistency in ensuring environmental standards are upheld.

The exercise extended to this week sent a strong message on the Agency’s zero tolerance for environmental abuse and urban disorder.
