Director General of the National Biotechnology Research and Development Agency (NBRDA), Prof. Abdullahi Mustapha, has expressed readiness to partner with the Kano Independent Research Centre Trust (KIRCT) in the areas of vaccine production, drug development and research in tropical diseases.
He stated this yesterday while on a facility tour of the centre in Kano where he stressed the importance of collaboration in peculiar research to address national challenges.
Prof. Mustapha noted that the centre provides opportunities to conduct research which would be acceptable worldwide.
While assuring of their support, he said they were ready to collaborate on the areas of vaccine, drug development and tropical diseases as they had the expertise and experienced staff to facilitate the research.
KIRCT director general, Professor Hamisu Salihu, explained that the centre focuses on three core areas which include supporting top researchers from universities for training and mentoring.
While thanking the agency for the visit, he restated the commitment of the centre to impactful research and ensuring due diligence and follow-up in areas of collaboration.
