This followed an extensive effort by the club to address issues relating to historical financial reporting and potential breaches of FA regulations.

In a statement on Thursday, Chelsea confirmed that the ownership group, which took charge of the club on 30 May 2022, detected potentially inconsistent financial reporting during a thorough due diligence process prior to their purchase.

The statement said upon completing the acquisition, the club took proactive measures by promptly reporting these issues to relevant authorities, including The FA.

“Chelsea FC is pleased to confirm that its engagement with The FA concerning matters that were self-reported by the club is now reaching a conclusion,” read the statement.

The club emphasised its commitment to transparency throughout the investigation, allowing comprehensive access to its files and historical data to facilitate the review process.

Chelsea expressed its ongoing commitment to collaborate with The FA to resolve the matter swiftly.

Chelsea extended gratitude to The FA for their engagement on what it described as a complex case, primarily focused on incidents that occurred over a decade ago.

As the club prepares to resolve these historical issues, fans and stakeholders alike await further updates on the outcome of the discussions with The FA.
