The minister of agriculture and rural development, Dr Mohammad Mahmood Abubakar has bid farewell to the ministry.

Abubakar who was formally the minister of environment was posted to the ministry following a minor cabinet reshuffle by President Muhammadu Buhari in September 1, 2021 to replace the then minister of agriculture, Sabo Nanono.

At a valedictory service in honour on Friday in Abuja, top management staffs of the ministry praised him for his achievements and friendly disposition.

The permanent secretary, Dr Ernest Umakhihe said in a remark said that the minister has been a man of discipline and focus.

He said, “I have worked with several ministers and also become acting Minister, and I have had robust relationship with the Minister, he has this very high quality which one has to emulate, learnt a lot from him, but we had own issues but not much, of course, it is expected in human relations.

We will miss you and one thing I know about you is details and tenacious. We have got on well, we started on a very good note and we are ending on a very good note, he has been the most gender sensitive minister and because of his inclusivity the ministry has received a lot of award on this gender issues”.
