Minister of state for agriculture and food security, Sabi Abdullahi, has condoled with the former head of state, Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar, over the death of his younger sister, Hajia Salamatu Asabe.
In a condolence message he signed in Abuja, the minister described the late Salamatu as a humble, gracious, and motherly woman who touched many lives with her kindness and generosity.
Abdullahi expressed his shock and sadness over the demise of Salamatu and prayed for her soul to rest in peace.
He also conveyed his sympathy and condolences to General Abubakar and the bereaved family, immediate and extended as he prayed that Almighty God comfort them and grant Hajia Salamatu Aljannah Firdaus.
The statement reads in parts, “In this moment of grief, my family and I offer our heartfelt condolences to Your Excellency, and other members of the Abubakar family, immediate and extended.
“I pray that Almighty Allah will comfort you, and grant Hajia Salamatu Aljannah Firdaus.
“May Hajia Salamatu‘s pleasant memories and good deeds be a perpetual source of relief from the painful loss.”
