The permanent secretary, ministry of agriculture and rural development, Dr Ernest Umakhihe has charged directors and heads of reform coordination in the ministry to use innovative ideas to drive the reforms, aimed at re- invigorating the civil service for higher productivity.
Umakhihe who spoke at the bi- monthly consultative meeting with the directors in Abuja also enjoined them to work assiduously towards ensuring uniformity in implementation of service to attain world-class service.
The meeting serves as a platform for sharing experiences and cross-fertilization of ideas amongst them in order to bring up new and creative ideas for enhancing service delivery arnd productivity in the workplace service-wide.
According to the permanent secretary, the department has been re-positioned to pursue the implementation of the current reform strategy such as the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP-25), and a vehicle for delivering transformation of the Federal Civil Service for effective and efficient service delivery.
Represented by the director, reforms coordination services improvement and innovation , Dr Dunoma Umar Ahmed, he said, “For critical review and reward the ministry is now focused on innovation to change the work environment and promote better, faster and more accessible service delivery on a sustainable basis.
I would like to assure you that the Ministry is committed to improving the existing welfare packages to better the lives of officers to enable them achieve the ministry’s mandate”.
