The Abuja Interior & Furniture Expo, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, and NTA, has launched mobile campaign vehicles to promote the upcoming Abuja Interior and Furniture Expo, set for December 6th and 7th.

This initiative, spearheaded by the former governor of Katsina State, Masari, aims to elevate Nigeria’s interior and furniture industry to a world-class standard. It has led to the organization of this significant event, the Abuja Interior and Furniture Expo.

During the unveiling, automobile designer Jelani Aliyu remarked, “Great things happen when you have visionary leaders committed to making a difference.”

He emphasized that the event will gather skilled craftsmen and major furniture companies from across Nigeria in one venue, allowing the public to view the impressive furniture designed and manufactured within the country.

Jelani highlighted that the Expo will drive growth in the sector, create jobs, and add value to the lives of millions of Nigerian youth.

He noted that “if we’re able to buy Nigerian-made furniture that is cost-effective and durable, it will greatly benefit the economy.”

He said, “Made-in-Nigeria goods are tailored to meet our specific needs. When you purchase something made here by a reputable company or artisan, you’re buying a solution designed for Nigerian lifestyles.”

Jelani also shared a vision of local furniture makers producing affordable, quality pieces directly within communities, reducing costs and enhancing accessibility.

Meanwhile, the project coordinator of the Abuja Interior and Furniture Expo, Faisal Jafar Rafindadi said, “We’re here to launch campaign vehicles to raise awareness about the upcoming Expo on December 6th and 7th, 2024. Our goal is to bring together talented Nigerian furniture makers to showcase their skills to the world.”

“We began in Katsina two years ago, and now we’re expanding to Abuja to give the Expo a national platform,” he added. “We want to show that young Nigerians can produce furniture on par with counterparts in the U.S., Italy, and Turkey.

“This event will highlight their talents and support those skilled artisans who may lack access to customers.”

He said, “This Expo is the first of its kind, and with God’s will, we intend to hold it annually, potentially even twice a year, to keep providing a platform for Nigerian youths to showcase their abilities.”
