Ahead Of Inauguration: Tinubu Makes Changes, Reassigns Oyetola, Tunji-Ojo, Momoh, Others

President Bola Tinubu has effected some changes in the composition of his cabinet with the redeployment of Engr. Abubakar Momoh from the Federal Ministry of Youth to the Federal Ministry of Niger Delta Development.

In a statement by presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the Federal Ministry of Youth is to be re-assigned to a minister-designate soon.

He said the ministers-designate allocated to the Federal Ministries of Transportation, Interior, and Marine & Blue Economy had been reshuffled as follows: Adegboyega Oyetola is redeployed as minister of transportation to that Marine & Blue Economy; Hon. Bunmi Tunji-Ojo is redeployed as minister marine and blue economy to that of Interior, while Hon. Sa’idu Alkali is redeployed from Interior to Transportation.

Furthermore, both the ministers of state in the oil & gas sector are domiciled in the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources with the following designations: Senator Heineken Lokpobiri is the Minister of State (Oil), Petroleum Resources, while Hon. Ekperipe Ekpo is the minister of State (Gas), Petroleum Resources.

According to the presidential spokesman, the president approved the renaming of the Federal Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management as the Federal Ministry of Environment.

“All aforementioned changes take immediate effect by these directives of the President,” he added.

Already, the 45 ministers-designate have completed their documentation process at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Abuja.

Saturday marked the commencement of the process, and it saw a remarkable turnout of ministers-designate, who diligently completed their documentation.

Yesterday, the remaining ministers-designate concluded this exercise.

In a statement by the director of information in the office of the SGF, Willy Bassey, each minister-designate also collected three invitation cards for their guests, ensuring their presence at the upcoming ceremony.

He said adequate transportation arrangements had been made to convey them and their guests to the State House Conference Centre, Aso Villa, Abuja, where the official swearing-in ceremony will take place today.

He said following the swearing-in ceremony, Permanent Secretaries from various Ministries and Departments are advised to meet with their respective Ministers for further interactions.
