The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Christ The Lord Parish, Lekki, Lagos, has trained over 200 youths, entrepreneurs, and small business owners in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital business skills.

The three-day AI Business Empowerment Bootcamp, held from April 9 to April 11, 2026, at the church premises, was sponsored by the Church’s Welfare Department as part of its Christian Social Responsibility initiatives, following its recently concluded Economic Summit.

The training was facilitated by the United States-based Fish For Life Foundation, which provided participants with hands-on, practical knowledge on leveraging digital tools for income generation.

Participants were trained in key areas such as AI-powered book writing and publishing, video creation and editing, YouTube channel development and monetisation, and freelancing on global platforms.

Speaking at the event, the Pastor-in-Charge of Parish, RCCG Christ The Lord Parish, Pastor Tunde Jenrola, who represented the Assistant Pastor-in-Charge of Region 11 and Pastor-in-Charge of Province, Lagos Province 20, Pastor Tunde Netufo, said the initiative was designed to position participants for opportunities in the fast-growing global digital economy.

He noted that artificial intelligence has opened new frontiers for wealth creation, stressing that equipping young people with relevant skills is critical to reducing unemployment and boosting economic productivity.

According to him, “This programme is about empowerment beyond words. It is about giving people the tools to create income, build businesses, and compete globally using technology.”

Participants described the bootcamp as impactful and transformative, noting that it has equipped them with practical skills to launch digital businesses and explore new income streams.

Organisers said the initiative underscores the importance of strategic partnerships in delivering scalable empowerment programmes, adding that more such training would be introduced to support youths and entrepreneurs.

Stakeholders have continued to emphasise the need for increased investment in digital skills development as the global economy becomes increasingly technology-driven.
