A United States-based tech platform, AI-Grants, and the Civil Society Organizations on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative (CSCHEI), have joined forces to launch an initiative aimed at boosting funding for Nigerian institutions.

The partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), seeks to revolutionise the grant application process for Nigerian civil society organizations (CSOs) and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

AI-Grants, headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, will leverage its artificial intelligence-powered platform to simplify the grant matchmaking and application process for CSCHEI’s institutional members.

In return, CSCHEI will promote AI-Grants’ services to its network, creating a symbiotic relationship that promises to enhance funding opportunities for Nigerian institutions.

Director General of CSCHEI, Kunle Yusuff, emphasised that the grants will primarily focus on projects related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), climate change, green environment, and agribusiness.

“This initiative aligns perfectly with the Global Agenda 2030,” Yusuff stated, highlighting the partnership’s commitment to international development objectives.

CEO of AI-Grants, David Luftglass, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Our partnership with CSCHEI aims to empower younger generations to build up their capital base in alignment with the United Nations SDGs Global Agenda.”

The five-year agreement is expected to significantly impact the Nigerian non-profit sector by providing easier access to global funding opportunities.

CSCHEI’s Global Partnership representative, Dr. Okere Sylvester, praised the initiative as an opportunity to put Nigerian CSOs and NGOs on the “global radar of grants.”
