Founder of the Aida Nath Foundation and Idoma-born legal practitioner, Hon. Barr. Aida Nath Ogwuche, has congratulated Dr. Olugbemisola Odusote Titilayo on her appointment as the Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, describing it as a landmark moment for the nation’s legal profession and gender inclusion in leadership.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Aida Nath commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for what she described as a bold, visionary and merit-driven decision, noting that the appointment has ended a 64-year absence of female leadership at the helm of the Nigerian Law School.
According to her, the development underscores the President’s commitment to competence, equity and inclusive governance.
“This historic appointment is a powerful testament to Mr. President’s belief in gender inclusion and meritocracy. It sends a strong message that women are central to nation-building and the transformation of critical institutions,” she said.
Aida Nath noted that Dr. Titilayo’s elevation marks a significant milestone in the advancement of women within the legal profession, which has traditionally been male-dominated at the highest administrative levels.
She added that the appointment would inspire young women and girls across the country to aspire confidently and pursue excellence without limitations.
“This is not only a victory for Dr. Titilayo but for every Nigerian woman who believes in fairness, opportunity and the power of merit,” she stated.
The foundation founder expressed confidence in the new Director-General’s ability to reposition the Nigerian Law School and strengthen legal education nationwide, citing her experience, discipline and leadership capacity as critical assets.
“With her depth of experience and clear vision, Dr. Titilayo is well positioned to redefine legal education, strengthen professional ethics and drive reforms that will enhance the quality, integrity and global competitiveness of Nigeria’s legal system,” Aida Nath said.
She described the appointment as a new dawn for the Nigerian Law School and a reflection of the growing recognition of women as transformative leaders across sectors.
Aida Nath congratulated Dr. Titilayo once again and wished her a successful and impactful tenure.
