The Nigerian Air Force on Friday decorated 38 officers with the rank of Wing Commander to strengthen operational leadership and combat readiness.
A statement on its social media handle said the officers were decorated during a ceremony at the NAF Officers’ Mess in Abuja.
Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Aneke described the promotion as a well-earned recognition of discipline, character and sustained excellence in service.
Represented by the NAF chief of administration, Air Vice Marshal A.A. Martins stated that the advancement reflected the officers’ proven professionalism and readiness to assume higher command responsibilities.
He noted that the newly promoted officers had consistently demonstrated the leadership capacity, sound judgement, and commitment required to drive mission success within the increasingly complex national security environment.
The air chief emphasised that the evolving nature of contemporary security challenges requires officers who are focused, adaptable, and operationally decisive.
