The Nigeria based Airlines, Air Peace, has launched a flight between Antigua and Lagos. The flights will start in the fourth quarter of the year and will improve connectivity between Caribbean and Africa.

Air Peace has been working with the Caribbean nations for months and has played a crucial role in keeping LIAT operational. The support and investment from the Airline have helped significantly in the revival of the LIAT Airlines.

Prime Minister of Antigua, Gaston Browne, made the announcement during a parliamentary sitting. He announced that the airline will be starting regular scheduled flight between Lagos and Nigeria during the last three months of the year.

The Parliamentary sitting where the Prime Minister had made this announcement, they were discussing Air Services Agreement between Antigua and Barbuda and the Republic of Rwanda. The formalization of this treaty will help in improving the airlift capacity of the country.

The PM highlighted that it is important for the island nation to improve their airlift capacity. The members of the Parliament discussed and debated the legalization of the treaty in the parliament.

The members of the community will also benefit from the development as they will be able to travel more easily to and from Antigua and Barbuda. The Prime Minister revealed that they are committed to working with the leaderships of other nations.

They have also started the discussion of collaborations with Ghana and other countries within West Africa. If the discussions are fruitful, travel between Antigua and Barbuda and West Africa will become more easily.

The collaboration between Antigua and Barbuda is not new. In 2023, the Airline had introduced seasonal flights between Nigeria and Antigua and Barbuda. Nearly 2 years later, the collaboration has been revived.
