Air Peace has announced a temporary disruption to its Lagos–London Gatwick service after a routine technical inspection detected a minor fault on the aircraft scheduled for the trip.

In a statement shared on its X handle on Saturday, the airline said the issue was discovered shortly after passengers had boarded the aircraft, leading to the immediate withdrawal of the plane from operation in line with standard safety procedures.

“Following the completion of passenger boarding, a routine post-boarding technical check identified a minor aircraft fault that required immediate attention,” the airline stated.

The carrier explained that all passengers were safely disembarked while its engineering team worked to address the fault.

Reaffirming its commitment to passenger safety, Air Peace said operational schedules would never take precedence over the wellbeing of travellers and crew members.

“At Air Peace, the safety and wellbeing of our passengers and crew will always take precedence over operational schedules,” the statement read.

“While we understand the inconvenience this situation may have caused, taking swift preventive action was the responsible and necessary decision,” it added.

The airline noted that affected passengers were promptly informed about the development and provided with hotel accommodation alongside other support services.

Air Peace further disclosed that a replacement aircraft would be dispatched from London to operate the delayed Lagos–London Gatwick flight.

“To minimise further disruption, a replacement aircraft from London will be dispatched and passengers are scheduled to depart this morning,” the airline said.

The airline also expressed appreciation to passengers for their patience and understanding during the disruption, assuring customers of its continued commitment to safe and reliable operations.

“We deeply appreciate the patience, understanding, and cooperation shown by our passengers during this period. Their trust remains incredibly important to us,” the statement added.
