Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has restated his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance in which no sector or section is left behind in developmental and transformational strides.

Aiyedatiwa stated this on Tuesday while receiving leaders from the state’s Northern Senatorial District, who came to commend the governor for his early strides in governance, particularly in infrastructure development. The governor promised an even distribution of developmental projects across the state’s 18 local government areas.

The delegation, led by former Senator Dr Bode Olajumoke, had hailed the Governor’s performance so far, urging him to prioritise equitable development distribution across the three senatorial districts and intensify efforts to tackle security challenges in the area.

The former Senator representing Ondo North Senatorial District of the State encouraged the Governor to be cautious in selecting the remaining members of his cabinet, emphasising the need for competence and fairness.

Olajumoke advised the government to consider acquiring more sophisticated equipment and deploying technology to enhance the performance of the Amotekun Corps. In addition, the government should recruit more personnel to ensure more boots are on the ground.

He added that if the government proposes a Security Trust Fund through an Executive Bill, the outcome will be more effective coordination, synergy, and improved funding for internal security in the State.

He appreciated Governor Aiyedatiwa’s proposed conversion of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, to the University of Agriculture and urged him to speed up the implementation.

Reacting, Governor Aiyedatiwa appreciated the delegation and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to security. He noted that 115 military personnel are being deployed to the Akoko axis to tackle recent challenges.

Governor Aiyedatiwa, who emphasized that protecting lives and property remains a top priority for his administration, assured of even development across all local government areas of the State.

The governor expressed willingness to consider the proposed security trust fund and announced plans to bolster the Amotekun Corps with more personnel.

Highlighting the importance of traditional institutions, Governor Aiyedatiwa assured that royal fathers would always be carried along in his administration, acknowledging their pivotal role in grassroots mobilisation and development.
