Ondo State governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has dissolved of the boards of key parastatals and commissions following the expiration of their tenures.
The decision, which took effect immediately, was conveyed in a press statement issued yesterday by the chief press secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan.
He said the affected agencies include the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the Ondo State Local Government Service Commission, the Ondo State Muslim Welfare Board and the Ondo State Christian Welfare Board.
Others are the Education Secretaries across the state’s 18 local government areas, whose tenures have also expired.
The government directed all chairpersons, commissioners, board members, and education secretaries concerned to hand over the affairs of their offices to the most senior administrative officers.
‎It noted that the directive was necessary to ensure continuity in governance and prevent any administrative vacuum in the affected institutions.
‎The dissolution, the statement explained, is in line with the statutory provisions guiding appointments to boards and commissions, which prescribe fixed tenures.
‎The statement reads in part, “The Chairmen, Commissioners, members of the Boards and commissions and Education Secretaries are thereby directed to hand over to the most senior Administrative Officers in their respective offices.
‎”The Governor of Ondo State, Dr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, expresses profound appreciation to all affected for their service, dedication, and contributions to the development of the state during their tenure.”
