AKISIEC Reviews Timetable For LG Poll

The Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission (AKISIEC) has reviewed the timetable for the local government election earlier scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024.

The exercise, LEADERSHIP Sunday learnt at the weekend, will now hold across the 31 LGAs on Saturday, October 5, 2024 as contained in the final revised election timetable of AKISIEC

Chairman of AKISIEC, Elder Aniedi Ikoiwak, who stated this during a consultative meeting with chairmen of the 19 registered political parties in his office at AKISIEC headquarters, announced that primaries for the contest holds on Monday, July 22, 2024.

He said the change in date became necessary as the enabling laws of AKISIEC provides for between 90 and 150 days.
