The Akwa Ibom State chapter of the Institute of Charted Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) has felicitated its National Vice President, Mrs. Uto Ukpanah, for emerging as the first-ever Global Corporate Secretary of the Year.

A message of felicitation signed by the chairman ICSAN, Uyo Chapter, Mrs. Chinonyerem Ini Ememobong, ACIS, indicated that the award, which was given at the maiden edition of the Corporate Secretary International Association (CSIA) Global Governance Award held on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was a global recognition, thus putting the governance institute on the global hall of fame and excellence.

Mrs. Ememobong applauded the ICSAN National Vice Chairman, who is also the company secretary of MTN Nigeria, for emerging winner through a stringent process of evaluation by a jury of expert practitioners, and thought leaders in the field of corporate governance. She described the development as a rare feat worthy of commendation.

According to the Akwa Ibom ICSAN chairman, the award was a testament to Mrs. Ukpanah’s hard work, discipline, character, perseverance and professionalism.

She encouraged Mrs. Ukpanah not to rest on her oars but to strive to soar on to higher heights, appreciating her for putting Akwa Ibom on the global spotlight. Accordingly, the state ICSAN chairman charged other members to strive for excellence in their various fields.
