Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society has demonstrated its appreciation for the media’s role in promoting community support by inviting journalists to a special iftar event.
The chief missioner of the society, Imam Faud Adeyemi, expressed gratitude for the invaluable contributions of media professionals, highlighting their essential involvement in sharing the society’s initiatives.
Imam Adeyemi said, “We must thank the media for their support, love and sacrifice. Without your involvement, even the best initiatives risk going unnoticed. Your presence amplifies our efforts, and for that, we are genuinely appreciative.”
The society reported a food expenditure of N3.7 million daily to provide approximately 2,800 meals, not only for fasting Muslims but also for non-Muslims, emphasising a message of compassion that transcends religious boundaries. “It’s humanity that matters,” said the Imam, reflecting on the Quranic perspective that all who do good will find their place in paradise.
Dr. Amaechi Anakwe, speaking on behalf of the media practitioners, praised Al-Habibiyyah for its humanitarian work and reassured the organisation of ongoing media support in championing their initiatives. This gathering not only celebrated Ramadan but also reinforced the collective commitment to community welfare.
