The Al- Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara State, has appointed Professor AbdulLateef Oladimeji as the new vice chancellor.
Oladimeji, a former deputy vice chancellor succeeded Prof Noah Yusuf who has completed his five- year tenure.
Prominent individuals and organisations , including the Kwara State chapters of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the League of Veteran Journalists (NALVEJ) have congratulated Oladimeji who was at a time the director of information at Al- Hikmah University on his well deserved appointment.
At a special prayer organised in honour of the new vice chancellor, the founder of Al-Hikmah University, Alh AbdulRaheem Oladimeji charged him to uphold honesty, teamwork and uprightness in the discharge of his duties.
He urged the vice chancellor to carry along all management and staff in taking decisions and that he should be prayerful as only God can make one successful in life.
In his remarks, the immediate past vice chancellor, Prof Noah Yusuf thanked the founder, council members, management and staff of the university for the support they gave him throughout his tenure.
In his own remarks, the new vice chancellor, Prof AbdulLateef Oladimeji solicited for the support of all and sundry to enable him succeed, promising to operate an open door policy.
He thanked the founder, Council members, management and staff for considering him fit to occupy the position.
The prayer session held at the Adewole Estate residence of the founder of Al-Hikmah University was led by the chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammed Bashir Salihu.
