The Alake of Egbaland @ 80 Table Tennis Tournament kicked off at the Table Tennis section of the famous Ikoyi Club 1938 in Lagos, yesterday.
The five-day tournament which will climax on Friday, November 10, 2023, will see participating players compete for honours in the men’s singles, men’s doubles and ladies’ singles.
The veteran table tennis players from 60-year-old and above will also slug it out for honour in the veteran’s single event.
The tournament is being bankrolled by Agba Akin of Egbaland (Taiwo and Folashade Adeoluwa) in honour of Alake of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, who turned 80 years old recently.
The paramount ruler of Egbaland will chair the championship’s Grand Finale on Friday.
He will be accompanied by other notable and eminent traditional rulers and personalities to the grand finale scheduled to serve off from 5pm on Friday, November 10, 2023 at the Table Tennis section of Ikoyi Club 1938.
