Almond Unveils Nominees For 2024 Insurance Industry Award

Almond Productions Limited, the organisers of the 2024 Almond Insurance Industry Awards, has unveiled the nominees in 10 categories for the Awards slated for Friday 1st of November 2024 in Victoria Island, Lagos, where winners will be announced.

For the Insurance CEO of The Year Award category, Tunde Fajemirokun,MD/CEO AIICO Insurance Plc; Ebelechukwu Nwanchukwu, MD/CEO, REX Insurance Ltd; Olufemi Asenuga, MD/CEO, Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc; Akinjide Orimolade, MD/CEO, Stanbic IBTC Insurance Limited and Austin Osegha Ebose, MD/CEO, Anchor Insurance Company Limited were nominated.

Similarly, Ebelechukwu Nwanchukwu, MD/CEO, REX Insurance Ltd; Funmi Omo, MD/CEO, Enterprise Life Assurance Company (Nigeria) Limited; Margaret Nkechi Moore, MD/CEO, Mega Trust Insurance Brokers Ltd and Ekeoma Ezeibe, MD/CEO, Crystal Trust Insurance Brokers Ltd were nominated.

In the Life Insurance Company of The Year Category, AIICO Insurance Plc, Coronation Life Assurance, Sanlam Life Insurance Nigeria Limited, Custodian Life Assurance Limited and Capital Express Assurance Limited we’re listed, even as Leadway Assurance Company Ltd, Consolidated Hallmark Insurance Plc, NEM Insurance Plc, Sovereign Trust Insurance Plc and International Energy Insurance Plc were nominees in the General Insurance Company of the Year Award category.

Moreover, Kayode Awogboro, MD/CEO ARK Insurance Brokers; Adeyinka Falade, MD/CEO, ATIAT Insurance Brokers; Funmi Babington – Ashaye, MD/CEO, Risk Analyst Insurance Brokers and Enitan Solarin, MD/CEO, YOA Insurance Brokers Ltd were in the Insurance Brokers of The Year category, while SCIB Nigeria & Co. Ltd, Hogg Robinson Nigeria Limited! ARK Insurance Brokers Limited, YOA Insurance Brokers Limited and Insurance Brokers of Nigeria (IBN) were in the Insurance Broking Company of The Year Award category.

In the Takaful Company Of The Year Award category, there were Noor Takaful Insurance Limited, Jaiz Takaful Insurance Ltd, Salam Takaful Insurance Company Ltd and Hilal Takaful Nigeria Limited, even as CHI Microinsurance Limited, Goxi Microinsurance Co. Ltd, Casava Microinsurance Limited, Lifeguard Microinsurance Ltd and Prudent Choice Microinsurance Ltd made up the nominees of the Micro Insurance Company of The Year category.

For Most Valuable Insurance Customer of The Year Award category, Dangote Group, NNPC Limited, Oando Plc., Air Peace Limited, Office of Head of Service of the Federation (OHCSF) and BUA Group were nominated even as Sir Ogala Osoka,

Valentine Ojumah and Prof. Ahmed Salawudeen were under the Insurance Life Achievers Award category.

Speaking at a press briefing to unveil the nominees for the award in Victoria Island(VI), Lagos at the weekend, the chairman for the Awards Panel of Judges, Ms. Prisca Soares, noted that, the meticulous nomination process which spanned over a month saw active participation from Top Management, Corporate Entities, and Individual Clients, saying all nominations were based on the provided criteria.

“This year, we witnessed a significant increase in participation from Insurance Industry Stakeholders. This is evident in the number of nominations we received this year (392) compared to last year’s 101. The 288.12% increase in participation in the nomination process is a testament to the growing recognition and prestige of the Almond Awards within and outside the Insurance Industry,” she pointed out.

Some of the nominations, she said, were not considered due to non-compliance with the criteria, adding that, nominees for the various categories went through the mill of due process and screening by the Judges before being Shortlisted for the Voting Process.
