Alternative Bank Relishes LEADERSHIP’s Nomination As Most Innovative Bank 2024

The managing director and chief executive officer of Alternative Bank, Mr. Hassan Yusuf, has expressed his appreciation at being nominated by LEADERSHIP Group Limited as The Most Innovative Bank in 2024.

He said this recently when a LEADERSHIP team comprising the executive vice chairman, Mr Mike Okpere, and other members of staff paid a courtesy visit to the bank to formally invite the management to attend its award ceremony and receive the award,

The Alternative Bank MD/CEO, represented by executive director, South, Korede Demola-Adeniyi, expressed the bank’s satisfaction at being recognised for its innovative products aimed at meeting the needs of its growing customer base.

Mr Okpere noted that LEADERSHIP was established 20 years ago, and that once every year, in November, “24 of us lock ourselves in a room and brainstorm, argue and take positions. We look at Nigerian politics, we look at the economy, and we look at persons that have impacted the nation positively and, as part of our corporate social responsibility, decide to reward such organisations and persons.”

“2024 is no different; after brainstorming and considering the facts and figures, we decided that you should be our ambassador as the Most Innovative Bank of 2024.”

Mr Okpere listed other worthy winners of the 2024 awards. “Leading the pack for this year is the person of Aliko Dangote. We all know about the beautiful refinery he has built that we can all be proud of. We believe he’s the LEADERSHIP Person of the Year.

“We also believe that ex-Governor Nyesome Wike, the FCT Minister, is an innovator as he turns every where into a construction place. And he’s doing it again in Abuja. He’s one of the recipients of our award.

“We nominated six governors from different political leanings and geographical spread for their impact on the society. Amongst them are Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State, Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State, Mallam Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, and Governor Umo Eno of Akwa ibom State.

“We also got the Banker of the Year; the person we believe has done a lot in the banking sector in the past 24 months is the MD of Zenith Bank, just as we chose you as our most innovative bank of the year.

“Our mission here is to formally inform you and to give you a letter of invitation, and we would expect that you attend that event personally on the 8th of April, 2025, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja,” Okpere said.

In response, the managing director of Alternative Bank Mr. Hassan Yusuf thanked LEADERSHIP Media Limited for the award, and expressed gladness to be nominated as the most innovative Bank of the Year. He also invited LEADERSHIP to experience some of the innovative products the bank offers.
